fashion shoot two

I went back to the first location with a make-up artist, model and assistant at a different time to get better lighting. My intention was to shoot with the light behind the model and to experiment with a 50mm lens.

Using the 50mm lens at 1.4 my aim was to create a bokeh effect with a shallow depth of field.

Using the back light from the sun work really well with this image and I think the composition and pose looks natural.

like the treatment with this photograph however, After a tutorial with my tutor we both agreed that we didn't like the models expression as it looks a little to posed and not natural.

Looking back at Victorian fashion and how cultural trends now use this style I noticed how fashion trends get repeated.

The corset is an example of how Victorian fashion is incorporated into contemporary styles such as Goth fashion, Punk and Emo. They tweak and customize edgy ways to personalise and use fashion as a way of self expression.

This is the best shot from the day and like the Contre-Jour technique. I plan to do more photo shoots using this technique as I think it works well with fashion . Also from my research from fashion branding I noticed that this technique is used alot in magazines and advertising.

I took these photographs on the same day.  I was able to borrow a wedding dress from a friend who makes them.

However, the light went dull and makes this image look flat and not very flattering. This kind light works best in a beach environment.  Also the angle of view is not right the head is lost in the background.
